Tales From the Snug
Execute - Make it Happen
Action here is crucial and its often incremental, where we must do one step before and then another after to make progress. Action steps can be another drilled down function of looking at the big picture – we can either guess or we can create a plan to get there.
This is often what is lacking in making traditional resolutions at the start of the year – there is no real plan, habits or due dates for reaching the goal. So by mid-February, most people have already given up.
Build a Strong Foundation
Continuing with our theme of “start as you mean to go for 2021,” we will move from planning into creating the habits that will support and underpin the steps that will carry us to the end goal.
Have you had a chance to read the book called, Atomic Habits by James Clear? This book clarifies the importance of establishing habits to support our projects and plans.
Learning to be consistent with each new habit is crucial to success.
Planning and Organizing for Success
Are you a planner, or do you jump right in and tell yourself you’ll just go for it and figure it out as you go?
Do you ever wonder why some people are so much more productive than others and you wonder if you could ever catch up?
Turn the Page to 2021
The key to turning the page is to create an updated mindset that believes there can and will be a new direction and that it is up to each of us to make it so.
What’s New for the New Year?
It’s not too late to take stock of what we accomplished (or didn’t) in 2020. It was a harsh year in many respects and most of us will be very glad to see it on its way.
We can still hope for a better year in 2021, I’m with you there – one with less impacts in terms of health and finances.
But what if nothing changes? How will be go into 2021?
Holiday Cheer 2020
It’s going to be different this year!
We are all in the midst of the grip of a pandemic that has turned our world upside down! There is no joy at all in looking at the number of cases or deaths that have happened so far in 2020.
So how do we switch our mindset and choose to feel holiday cheer when we feel guilty for doing so?
Knee Deep in Handmade Gifts
I’ve been away this past week – supposedly to step away, relax and regroup…but, with the holiday creeping closer each day, there is no time right now for such a thing as relaxing!
So, with great forethought, I packed whatever projects that I could that I would be able to work on during this time away.
All I Want for Christmas
Right up front, just so you know, I find this asking very, very difficult!
And, not only at Christmas time, but all year long – I really hate asking others for anything for me or for favors for things that I might want or need, especially if I can manage it for myself.
Do you suffer from this issue as well?
